The 7th Anniversary HTCC Banquet was held on Friday, March 15, 2013 at the PeachTree Banquet Center.
As always, the glittering event brought out a large number of happy faces (and fancy clothes – oh my!), with everyone ready to enjoy the evening’s festivities. The invocation was inspiring, food was great, the store was busy, and the entertainment was fantastic, provided by Raja Govindarajan and his melodious voice (ok, so we renamed Kansas Raja as Missouri Raja).
Every year we introduce changes to the evening’s program. This year we had a streamlined registration process, thanks to assigning table numbers to the tickets. We unveiled a new activity for the attendees, a trivia game that kept the them hopping (and sometimes calling across tables for help with answers!).It was wonderful to have an event that involved all the attendees. The questions covered wide-ranging topics, from the history, geography and culture of India to sports and movies. The ever-popular youth room kept our youth busy, and they took home fun souvenirs of their evening at the banquet.
The 2013 Samarpanam was released at the banquet. Members, please pick up your hard copy at the temple. You will enjoy the reports, the photographs – including our new graduations and weddings pages, a temples of India quiz and, of course, the ever-useful directory. You can also view Samarpanam online (sans directory).
We thank all the volunteers who made the banquet a roaring success – without your expert help, HTCC events would not be possible. We thank all the attendees – your support keeps us going.
