Ganesh Utsav 2014 was celebrated at the Shanthi Mandir during August 23 – September 9, 2014. The festival marks the 9th Anniversary of Shanthi Mandir. Ganesh Chaturthi 2005 (September 7, 2005) marked the first day the doors of Shanthi Mandir was opened to our community.
The festival started with the Ganesh Idol Making event on Saturday, Aug 23. A large group of adults and children gathered to make idols of clay. On Aug 28 the Ganesh Sthapana Puja and Ganesh Utsav Special Sai Bhajan were held. The main Ganesh Chaturthi Puja was held on Saturday, Aug 30, ably conducted by Mahendra Joshi and Yogesh Naik from Jefferson City. Following the Puja, the Mandir was kept open daily from 7 to 8 pm for devotees. The final event of the Utsav was the Visarjan Puja on Tuesday, Sep 9.
